Amir Mahmoudi
Composer
Amir Mahmoudi is an Iranian composer and music lecturer. He has a bachelor's
degree in classical guitar and a master's degree in composition. One of his
most prominent works is the Concerto IRYA for the microtonal guitar and
symphony orchestra, which was based on Iranian classical and traditional
music and performed by Tehran Symphony Orchestra at Vahdat Hall in September
2018.
He has written several works for orchestra, chamber orchestra, string
quartet, piano solo, classical guitar solo, as well as microtonal guitar.
One of his latest awards is the first place in the arrangement category of
the 6th international microtonal guitar competition in 2022.
Amir has published two books: "Foggy Distance" for classical guitar and
"Suite in Dastgāh-e Shur" for microtonal guitar.
His range of works includes tonal and free-tonal music, cinematic music,
fusion, popra, music for short videos, as well as microtonal music based on
Iranian classical and traditional music.
Amir Mahmoudi is currently a member of the Composer's Association of the
Iran Music House.
